New Curriculum Proposals for the 2026–27 School Year: Presentation to Teachers
As the new school year approaches, Vicenza’s museums are getting ready to welcome students and teachers with a rich programme of educational activities, guided visits and workshops.
On Monday, 14 September, from 3 pm to 7 pm, the Palladio Museum (contra’ Porti 11) will host “Museums for Schools”, the traditional event presenting educational programmes for the 2026–2027 school year.
Coordinated by the Scatola Cultura cooperative, the event is aimed at teachers from nursery, primary and lower and upper secondary schools, offering an opportunity to explore the educational activities available across the city’s museums and plan experiences for their classes.
Throughout the afternoon, teachers will be free to visit the Palladio Museum between 3 pm and 7 pm, meet representatives from the participating institutions and learn more about workshops, guided tours and educational programmes designed for students.
Participating institutions will include the Civic Museums of Vicenza – Teatro Olimpico, Basilica Palladiana, Palazzo Chiericati Civic Museum, Natural History and Archaeological Museum, Gallerie di Palazzo Thiene and the Museum of the Risorgimento and Resistance – together with the Diocesan Museum, Gallerie d’Italia – Vicenza, Palladio Museum, Jewellery Museum and Museum of Sacred Art of Monte Berico.
“Education is playing an increasingly important role within our museum programmes. We are delighted to have this opportunity to present the many experiences that connect the museums with the wider cultural life of the city, including the exhibition ‘Italy Germany. From Canova to Kiefer’ and the ARTis festival. The museum network continues to work together to offer increasingly well-structured educational opportunities,” explains Ilaria Fantin, Councillor for Culture, Tourism and City Attractiveness.
Exhibitions and festivals: new opportunities for schools
The event will also be an opportunity to discover the educational programme connected with the major exhibition “Italy Germany. Painting and Sculpture between the 19th and 20th Centuries. From Canova to Kiefer”, on display at the Basilica Palladiana from 13 November 2026 to 2 May 2027.
Teachers will also be able to learn more about the second edition of ARTis – Art Festival, which from 9 to 15 November 2026 will offer free activities for schools, including art workshops organised by the city’s museums and national museum institutions, as well as activities for families during the weekend.
All the educational programmes presented are part of the 2026–2027 Territorial Educational Offer Plan (POFT), promoted by the Department of Education and aimed at nursery, primary and lower and upper secondary schools across the city.
