La mostra

Artistic invention, innovation, and craftsmanship describe the Temporary Exhibition at the Museo del Gioiello and more specifically the ceramic art that Vicenza has developed over the centuries.
This production is the focus of the new Temporary Exhibition, “1949-1975: Ceramics between design and artistic experimentation. A parallel story to the Gold Fair" curated by the Museo del Gioiello of Vicenza and the ‘Giuseppe De Fabris’ Civic Museum of Ceramics in Nove (VI).

The Exhibition traces the evolution of a fascinating manufacture through 27 unique creations from the collection of Fiera di Vicenza, now Italian Exhibition Group, which between 1949 and 1975 were awarded in competitions organized as part of the trade fair held in the capital of the Veneto region. An important showcase for local crafts and industry, the Fiera di Vicenza played a crucial role in promoting Vicenza ceramics nationally and internationally, also attracting world-renowned artists.

“Ceramic art is an artistic excellence that takes us back to the origins of the Vicenza gold fair, exactly 70 years after its birth. It represents pride for our territory, and we are thrilled to offer the general public the opportunity to discover this tradition, which represents another founding element of Vicenza's cultural heritage, proposing our museum as an amplifier of our artistic heritage”.

Michela Amenduni, Managing Director of the Museo del Gioiello

“The works included in the Fiera di Vicenza collection are a very important testimony to a particularly fruitful season, which reflects decades of artistic inventions, innovation and mastery – underlines the mayor of Nove, Luca Rebellato -. The exhibition that we present in collaboration with the Museo del Gioiello allows you to immerse yourself in this extraordinary heritage in celebration of the numerous artists who have contributed to innovating the languages of ceramic tradition and making Vicenza ceramics one of the most appreciated in the world. The collection is testimonial to an era of great artistic, artisanal and entrepreneurial enterprises, which saw Nove return to being an internationally recognized center”.

Luca Rebellato, Mayor of Nove
